February is National Pet Dental Health Month

When it comes to keeping your pup healthy, brushing their teeth is one of the best things you can do to give them a longer and healthier life.  Over 80% of dogs end up with periodontal disease.   Unfortunately, brushing your dogs teeth can be challenging and nearly impossible at times.  Just ask my dog Pepper! As much as she loves putting her mouth all over other people, she just doesn’t seem to enjoy her teeth and gums being cared for.  We only get to brush them about twice a week (way over the average)

Thats why its important to find a solution that will make it easier to keep your pups pearly whites clean and healthy. If youve been searching for an easy way to remove plaque from your dog’s teeth then look no further than Whimzees Dental Treats from the Wellness Dog Food Company. These dental treats are specially formulated to help reduce plaque and tartar buildup on your pups teeth. Because they are dense and textured, they also last for quite a while.  They come in some really cute shapes, and they taste great too, so your pup will actually enjoy eating them. Plus, they are free of wheat, corn, soy, artificial flavors and colors, so you can feel knowing that even dogs with sensitive stomachs should be just fine.

As many of you know, I work for BURST Oral Care.  Recently I had the pleasure of doing an Instagram live with a veterinarian on the Wellness Pet Food team, Dr. Danielle.  We chatted about all of the similarities and differences between human and dog teeth as well as our best recommendations for taking proper care of them.

I hope all of you dog moms and dads out there find ways to care for your pup’s teeth and stay motivated to stick to a routine.  Make sure to get them to the vet once a year and include a dental checkup to stay ahead of things.
